Honor Flight of Southeast Kansas brings veterans and students together for a meaningful journey of remembrance and honor. Each year, we travel to Washington, D.C., with three buses carrying 74 veterans and 74 student guardians to visit our nation’s memorials and recognize the sacrifices made for our country. This trip is at NO COST to our Veterans. Through a special partnership with Parsons (USD 503), Chetopa/St. Paul (USD 505), Fort Scott (USD 234), and Caney Valley (USD 436), our program is one of only six in the country where high school students serve exclusively as guardians, creating lasting intergenerational connections and memories.

Honor Flight Southeast Kansas is a unique and heartfelt program designed to honor our nation’s veterans by providing them with a memorable journey to Washington, D.C. Working in cooperation, our 6 high schools proudly organize an annual, all-expenses-paid, three-day trip for 74 veterans and 74 student guardians. This trip allows our honored veterans to visit and reflect at the Nation's memorials, creating lasting memories and fostering powerful connections between generations. Through this program, we aim to celebrate service, bridge generations, and create a legacy of gratitude and respect in our community.

The Honor Flight Southeast Kansas Board is dedicated to ensuring our all veterans receive the recognition they deserve through unforgettable Flights of Honor. This group works tirelessly behind the scenes—organizing creative fundraisers, securing donations, and rallying community support to cover the costs of each trip. They carefully seek out and connect with veterans who are eligible to attend, while also recruiting and preparing student guardians who accompany them, building lasting intergenerational bonds along the way. From planning logistics to coordinating travel details, the board ensures every aspect of the journey is seamless. Their hard work and dedication make it possible for our veterans to experience a trip of honor, remembrance, and gratitude, while inspiring our students with the importance of service, sacrifice & community.
